CHICAGO – UIC men's tennis (14-4, MAC 5-2) battled to a thrilling 4-3 victory over Toledo, securing key wins in doubles and singles to clinch the match.
The Flames set the tone early by taking the doubles point. At the No. 2 spot, Artem Alekseychuk and Milos Mikovic delivered a dominant 6-0 victory over Matias Olivero and Charlie Snow. Simon Knezevic and Mihailo Savic followed up with a hard-fought 7-5 win at No. 3 doubles against Lucas Britez and Joshua Mackey. Despite a setback at No. 1 doubles, UIC carried a 1-0 lead into singles play.
In singles, Eldin Nokic was dominant at the No. 2 spot, securing a straight-set 6-1, 6-3 victory over Hanamichi Carvajal. Mihailo Savic built on that momentum at No. 4, powering through for a 6-2, 6-3 win. Simon Knezevic continued his strong form with a commanding 6-4, 6-0 victory at No. 5 singles, helping the Flames lock in the team win.
With this win, the Flames will look to carry their momentum into upcoming conference play.
