YPSILANTI, Mich. – Senior Diver
Harrison Nolan is believed to have made school history when he qualified for the NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships in the three-meter diving event on Monday evening. Nolan qualified by placing sixth with a score of 719.80 points at the NCAA Zone C Diving Championship Meet and is the first in program history to qualify for the NCAA Championships.
In NCAA Diving, the competition is broken into five separate zones throughout the country based on geographic location, with UIC falling into zone C. In order to qualify for the NCAA Championships in the three-meter event in Zone C, a diver must first qualify for the NCAA Zone Championships, and then place within the top 10. Nolan qualified for the NCAA Zone C Diving Championship in the three-meter event on Oct. 10, 2025 against Southern Illinois. By placing sixth at the Zone C Championship Meet, Nolan hit the top 10 threshold and was able to make history for the UIC Swimming and Diving program.
Nolan has been phenomenal this season for the Flames and he adds to his impressive catalog of accolades. This season Nolan has, won the Missouri Valley Conference Championship in the three-meter event, broke two MVC Championship meet records in the one-meter and three-meter, broke the overall MVC record for one-meter event, earned All-MVC First Team for both boards, was named MVC Diver of the Year, was named MVC Diver of the Week four times and now is the first UIC athlete to qualify for the NCAA Championships.
Nolan will compete again tomorrow in the one-meter diving event at the NCAA Zone C Championships, where he will need to place in the top eight to qualify for the NCAA Championship.
