CLEVELAND – Four UIC men's tennis players were recognized Thursday morning by the Mid-American Conference for their success on the court and in the classroom, earning an Academic All-MAC Team selection. Senior Elliott Dam, senior Youssef Hamed, sophomore Simon Knezevic and sophomore Eldin Nokic were honored.

Eldin Nokic is one of three student-athletes in the conference to register a 4.00 GPA, studying computer science. During his sophomore campaign, Nokic won eight singles matches and nine doubles matches. He had a standout performance on February 22 when he took down Hayden Jones of Illinois, who was an Australian Open participant and ranked No. 8 in the world as a junior.

Senior Elliott Dam maintains a 3.51 GPA in accounting. A leader for the Flames, Dam made 26 dual-match appearances throughout his career, winning five times at both singles and doubles.

Youssef Hamed holds a 3.52 GPA in computer engineering. A key member for the Flames, Hamed competed in seven singles matches and five doubles matches during the season.

Simon Knezevic sustains a 3.59 GPA in finance. The sophomore recorded eight wins on the season overall, five in conference overall, helping lead the Flames in 2026.

To meet the criteria for the Academic All-MAC honor, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests scheduled or completed in the particular sport. First-year students and ANY transfer students in their first year of residence are not eligible for the award.
