Chicago, Ill. - The University of Illinois at Chicago has had six of its student-athletes chosen to the Midwestern Collegiate Conference Spring All-Academic Team, it was announced today.
A total of 68 student-athletes from the MCC's eight schools were selected in the sports of Women's Outdoor Track and Field, Men's Outdoor Track and Field, Women's Tennis, Men's Tennis, Golf, Softball and Baseball. The University of Detroit Mercy led the way with a total of 18 honored while Loyola and Butler followed with 13 each.
The MCC Academic All-Conference teams honor student-athletes who have a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 (on a 4.00 scale) with at least three complete semesters at the same institution and who participate in an MCC-sponsored sport as a starter or important reserve. Selections are made by the MCC Faculty Athletic Representatives.
