Chicago, Illinois - The University of Illinois at Chicago Athletic Department will be hosting 'Alumni Day' on Saturday, September 22nd as four of our athletic teams will be in action.
The day will kick off at 9 a.m. as the UIC softball team will take on Northwestern in the first game of the 'Battle In the Windy City' softball tournament at Flames Field. Immediately following the contest, Northwestern will square off with Loyola at 11 a.m.
There will be a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 12:45, to dedicate the Walkway for Excellence Brick Campaign. Following the ceremony, free food and Pepsi products will be available to all of the fans from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
The UIC baseball team will then take the field for an intra-squad scrimmage at Les Miller Field at 1:00 p.m.
The Flames' softball team will also take the field at 1:oo p.m. as they will do battle with cross-town rival DePaul. DePaul will remain on the field for their contest with Northwestern at 3:00 p.m.
The soccer field will provide an exciting rematch of last season's NCAA tournament thriller, as Bradley will take on UIC at 2:00 p.m. at Flames Field.
If you're looking to whet your appetite for some Horizon League volleyball action, then make way to the Physical Education Building where UIC will match up with UW-Green Bay at 4:00 p.m.
Softball action will resume at 5:00 p.m. as Loyola will lock horns with DePaul and follow that contest with a Horizon League showdown against host UIC at 7 p.m.
