Dan Yopchick returned to UIC in September 2015 as the Director of Athletic Communications. He previously was with the Flames from 2009-11.

Yopchick came back to UIC following a four-year stint as the Assistant Director of Athletic Communications at Northwestern. His most recent responsibilities included serving as the media relations contact for football, baseball, fencing and men's swimming & diving. He also worked closely with both men's and women's basketball and tennis programs during his tenure in Evanston.

Previously with the Flames, Yopchick worked with the baseball, cross country, track and field, volleyball and women's basketball teams. In addition, he fulfilled roles in event management, served as a public address announcer for several events and provided color commentary on Horizon League Network broadcasts.

In the summer of 2015, Yopchick worked as a Press Officer for USA Basketball. He represented the United States in Gwangju, South Korea at the World University Games and assisted with all communications efforts for the women's basketball team that captured the gold medal.

Additionally, Yopchick served as a media relations assistant for the Chicago White Sox in 2008 and as the media relations coordinator of the Bakersfield Blitz in 2007.

Yopchick graduated from the University of Iowa in 2006 with degrees in journalism as well as health and sports studies. In August 2015, he completed a Master of Arts degree in sports administration at Northwestern University.
