Carney was officially hired to the role of Director of Corporate Partnerships on March 11, 2015.
From 1999 to 2009, Carney served as the Senior Director of Marketing and then was promoted to Vice President of Marketing for the Denver Broncos. In that role he managed a department of 20 people that focused on branding, sponsorship, broadcasts, advertising, communications and special events. Carney increased revenues by more than 500 percent during his Denver tenure and generated roughly $500 million.
Before his time with the Broncos, Carney was the Director of Corporate Partnerships for the Chicago Bulls for five seasons. He maintained relationships with 100 corporate clients and was responsible for generating more than $22 million annually. Carney also managed all in-market retail and gameday promotions and worked closely with the United Center staff regarding advertising and vending partners.
Carney spent six seasons with the Chicago White Sox where he was a member of the marketing department. He helped created the inaugural Soxfest, the team's annual official fan festival, and also aided in the opening of then-Comiskey Park (now US Cellular Field).
Most recently, Carney has worked for the Chicago Public Schools (CPS) as the Director of Sports Administration.
Carney earned his bachelor's degree in business management from Illinois Wesleyan in 1988 and completed his graduate studies at the top-ranked Ohio University Sports Administration and Facility Management Program.
