Traffic Advisory - Friday, Sept. 16
Due to a special event at the Dorin Forum Friday, Sept. 16, several adjacent streets and parking facilities will be closed and may cause significant traffic delays for both drivers and pedestrians. This includes streets around the Flames Athletics Center and UIC's athletic complex.
- Movement around the area will be impacted from approximately 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday
- Halsted Street will be CLOSED South of Taylor Street to North of Maxwell Street
- Roosevelt Road will be CLOSED East of Morgan Street to West of Jefferson Street
- Morgan Street will remain OPEN for North/South travel
- Taylor Street will remain OPEN for West/East travel
- Parking Lot 5 will remain open throughout the day, accessible from Morgan Street
Please plan for movement in and around the UIC athletics complex to take longer than usual. Traffic is expected to return to normal shortly after 5 p.m. on Friday.
The City of Chicago will provide traffic management services in the affected areas. It is expected that some local businesses in these areas will be closed, so you may wish to call before attempting to access them.
