AS A SOPHOMORE (2019): Made his Flames debut at the Windy City Invitational, competing on pommel horse...scored 11.050 in his first appearance...competed on floor and pommels against Springfield and Penn State...floor score in that meet was 12.850...returned to the lineup in the season finale against Michigan, competing on floor.

AS A FRESHMAN (2017-18): Did not compete.

PREP/PERSONAL: Hails from New York City where he attended Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music and Art and Performing Arts… Recipient of the Coach’s Award, Most Valuable Player and Highest Season Average awards with his club team, Chelsea Piers… Also helped Chelsea Piers win the PSAL City Championships three-consecutive years… Also participated in the pit orchestra for three major school performances at Fiorella H. LaGuardia, one of which was nominated for a Broadway performance… Son of Andrew and Renée Mattson… has three siblings, Maria, Gabriella and Anthony… Currently enrolled as a civil engineering major.
