Craig Hernandez joins the Flames after a decorated career at both the club level, as well as the collegiate level, as a graduate of Penn State University. The Libertyville, Ill. native was the 2007 and 2009 USA Gymnastics Pommel Horse Champion, and placed third on pommel horse at the 2010 Winter Cup during his time competing at the club level with Buffalo Grove Gymnastics Center.
While at Penn State, Hernandez was crowned the Big Ten Pommel Horse Champion in 2012 and 2013 and was a member of the 2015 Big Ten Champion team for the Nittany Lions. Hernandez also All-America on pommel horse in 2012 and 2014, and was a Nissen-Emery Award finalist in 2015. Hernandez graduated Penn State in 2015 with a degree in Pharmacy.Â
