AS A SOPHOMORE (2019): NCAA Qualifier, All-Around...competed in the all-around in every meet but one...improved his all-around total in five straight outings...finished seventh on floor, 12th on parallel bars, and fifth in the all-around at the ECAC Championships...his 14.000 on floor against Minnesota and Nebraska was a team season high, and tied him for fourth in the meet...had UIC's highest scores on parallel bars and high bar against Cal and Oklahoma...earned ECAC Gymnast of the Week honors twice...became UIC's first all-around qualifier to the NCAA Championships in four years...scored 12.833 on vault, and 12.533 on floor and rings, in NCAA competition on his way to an all-around total of 71.898.

AS A FRESHMAN (2017-18): A consistent performer across four events, he competed in the vault, floor, p-bars, and high bar in six meets...had the team's highest floor average (12.780) on the season...completed the all-around in the season opening Windy City Invitational and the following week against Iowa and Stanford...improved his scores on four of six events from the first meet to the second...missed two meets, then showed additional improvement on his four primary events over the final four weeks of the season...set a season high on parallel bars with a 12.550 Mar. 31...was named ECAC Rookie of the Week after that meet at Michigan, having set three then-season highs...capped the season at the ECAC Championships with personal bests on floor (13.850), vault (13.550), high bar (13.050), pommel horse (11.200), and the all-around (75.400)...had the team's highest all-around score at the conference meet and finished sixth overall...was fourth in the conference on the floor...

PREP/PERSONAL: Attended North Attleboro High School in Attleboro, Mass., where he was a member of the National Honors Society… Qualified for Nationals in 2016 and 2017… Also participating in the Honors College at UIC… Favorite event is floor… Son of Julie Peters and Eric Montague… Has one sibling, Josh… Current major is mechanical engineering.
