AS A SENIOR (2019): Focused on still rings, competing solely on that apparatus in every meet...scored over 12.000 in every meet but one, and had a high score of 13.200...season high came versus Nebraska and Minnesota, where he had UIC's best score and finished seventh...led the team on rings four times...awarded the prestigious Edward Saleh Award.
AS A JUNIOR (2017-18): Specialized in still rings, competing in all eight meets on the apparatus...made one appearance on p-bars...showed consistent improvement on rings over the first half of the season, peaking with a season high score of 13.200 at Nebraska, finishing fifth and leading the Flames rings squad...scored 12.650 at Springfield...closed the season with strong performances, scoring 12.600 at Michigan and 13.050 at the ECACÂ Championships...scored 11.350 in his lone p-bars performance.
AS A SOPHOMORE (2016-17): Consistently represented the Flames on rings, but also saw action on vault…notched a season high of 13.500 on rings against Ohio State Jan 20…tallied a 13.050, a season best score, on vault at the Windy City Invitational (Jan. 14)…wrapped up his sophomore campaign at the Conference Championships where he earned a 12.650 on rings.Â
AS A FRESHMAN (2015-16): Diveney represented the Flames consistently on rings, vault and high bar…Competed on parallel bars twice this season…He scored a season best of 13.650 on rings on Feb. 2 against Illinois and Temple… Tallied UIC's top score of 13.500 on parallel bars against Michigan on March 26…Diveney notched a season and career best score of 13.800 on vault at the ECAC Championships on April 2.Â
PREP AND PERSONAL: Two-time Junior Olyimpics National qualifier...2015 IHSA Still Rings Champion...Son of Patricia and Scott Diveney...currently enrolled as a Chemistry major.
