AS A SENIOR (2020-21): Did not compete.
AS A JUNIOR (2019-20): Horizon League Champion, 1650 Free...broke his own UIC record in the 1650 free, as he repeated as the Horizon League champion in the event...also placed fourth in the 500 free at conference, setting a personal best...qualified for the US Open in the 400 free and 1500 free, and set personal long-course records in both events...placed fifth in the 500 and third in the 1000 in the season opener at Northwestern...won the 500 and was second in the 1000 against Michigan State...picked up his first win of the season in the 1000 against Oakland...a double winner in the 500 and 1000 against Milwaukee...finished in the top 20 in the 200, 500, and 1650 at the House of Champions...took third in the 500 and second in the 1000 against Green Bay...won both distance events for the second time against UChicago and Wabash.
AS A SOPHOMORE (2018-19): Horizon League Champion, 1650 Free...broke the UIC record in his conference championship-winning 1650 freestyle swim...shaved more than four seconds off the previous school record...took third in the 500 free at the conference championships...started the season with a third place swim in the 1650 against Michigan State...took second in both the 500 and 1000 against Northwestern and Chicago...won the 1650 and finished second in the 500 in the hotly contested dual meet with Oakland...swept first in the 500 and 1000 against Milwaukee...had then-season best times in the 500 and 1650 at the TYR Invitational...took first in the 1000, second in the 500, and third in the 1650 in the two-day meet with IUPUI and Cleveland State...won the 500 and 1000 in UIC's win over Green Bay to finish the regular season...
AS A FRESHMAN (2017-18): Was a double-first place finisher in the season opening meet against Green Bay and Valparaiso, winning the 500 free (4:43.28) and 1000 free (9:45.24)...dropped his times in both races, taking second in the 1000 and third in the 500 at Northwestern with Rutgers and Chicago...returned to the top of the podium, sweeping the 500 and 1000 against Milwaukee...lowered his times in both races for the second straight meet...took second in both distance events against Oakland...set a then-season best time in the 500 at the TYR Invitational (4:37.98)...swam the 1650 for the first time and finished in 15:58.93...his 1000 yard split was his fastest time to date...also swam the anchor leg of the 800 free relay...took first in the 1000 (9:39.03) on day 1 against Cleveland State and placed third (9:40.14) on day 2...also took third on day 2 in the 500 (4:43.44)...took second in the 1650 free at the Horizon League Championships...his time of 15:33.19 broke the previous school record, but race winner and teammate Luke Hutchinson set the new record...took 10th in the 500, and swam the 400 IM for the first time...after the season, was voted UIC's Newcomer of the Year.
PREP/PERSONAL: Won state in the 500 free as a junior, and placed second as a senior...also took second in the 200 free his senior year at First Flight High School...qualified for the NCSA Junior Nationals in the 500 free, 1000 free, and 1650 free as a junior...set a plethora of school records...son of Barrett and Shay Crook...currently enrolled as a political science major with intentions of joining the Peace Corps after graduation.
