2024-25 (Sophomore):
  • Set a new school record and became a Missouri Valley Conference champion in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 1:57.12 at the Missouri Valley Conference Championship meet.
  • Broke the 400 individual medley school record twice (3:53.05 and 3:51.82) at the MVC meet.
  • Broke that record once again at the CSCAA National Invitational Championships with a finish of 1:56.77, placing third and earning an NCAA B cut qualification.
  • Finished in 7th place in the 400 individual medley (3:54.88) and 18th in the 200 individual medley (1:50.94) at the CSCAA National Invitational Championships.
  • Named a member of the 2025 All-MVC Conference First Team.
  • Finished seventh (3:59.77) in the 400 individual medley at the House of Champions meet.
  • Selected as one of the Most Improved at the end of the year awards banquet.
  • Won Male Performance of the Year at the Sparkys.

2023-24 (Freshman):
  • Set the UIC record for the 400 individual medley with a time of 3:53.34, finishing in third place at the 2024 MAC Championship Meet.
  • Won the 400 individual medley with a time of 3:58.28 in the tri-meet against Evansville and Missouri State.
  • Won the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:09.09 against UChicago.
  • Selected as the men’s Newcomer of the Year at the end-of-the-year awards banquet.

High School/Personal
  • Competed all four years for the Men’s swim and dive program at DeLaSalle High School in Minneapolis, Minn.
  • Contributed to a conference title his junior and senior year.
  • Contributed to an Islanders men’s swim and dive undefeated season 2022-23.
  • Earned All-State (10 times) and All Conference honors all four years in high school.
  • Broke the following records in high school: 200 medley relay, 200 IM, 100 Fly, 500 Free, 200 Free Relay, 100 Back, 100 Breast and 400 Free Relay.
  • Dad, Justin swam at St John’s University in Minnesota. Sisters Erin (George Washington University) and Ally (Lake Forrest College) have each swam collegiately.
  • Parents are Justin McCarthy and Michele McRaith.
  • Currently undecided on a major.
