AS A SENIOR (2018-19): Horizon League All-Academic Team selection...a dependable swimmer in the 500 free, with several appearances in the 200 and 1650...began the season by finishing seventh in the 500 and sixth in the 1000 against Michigan State...was fourth in the 500 and fifth in the 1000 against Northwestern and Chicago...made his first appearance in the 200 against Olivet Nazarene...finished third in the 200, and fifth in the 500, against Oakland...was a top-five finisher in the 500 and 200 against Milwaukee...qualified for the finals in the 500 at the TYR Invitational...swam the 200, 500, and 1000 against Cleveland State and IUPUI...swam the same three events at the Horizon League Championships, setting a season best in each.

AS A JUNIOR (2017-18): Horizon League All-Academic Team selection...Opened the season with a second place finish in the 500 free (4:44.48), and took fifth in the 200 free (1:44.77) against Green Bay and Valparaiso...added the 1000 free against Northwestern and Chicago, finishing fifth (10:00.68), while also taking sixth in the 500...placed fourth in the 500 (4:46.04) and 1000 (9:57.93) against Milwaukee...moved into the leadoff leg of the 400 free relay after swimming second the previous two meets...maintained his top-six status in both distance freestyle races against Oakland...debuted in the 1650 free (16:24.98) at the TYR Invitational, and set then-season best times in the 200 and 500...was eighth in the 200 (1:46.60) against Cleveland State...swam the 500 in 4:51.64 on day 2 of that meet...made the consolation finals of the 500 at the Horizon League Championships and finished in 4:33.97...also swam the 200 and 1650 at the conference meet.

AS A SOPHOMORE (2016-17): Placed sixth in the 1000 free (9:59.71), seventh in the 500 free (4:49.80) and ninth in the 400 free relay (3:16.92) in the triple dual with Northwestern, Oliver-Nazarene and the University of Chicago (Oct. 22)…captured second place in the 500 free (4:42.45), third in the 1000 free (9:59.09) and fifth in the 200 free relay (1:30.39) against Boston College (Oct. 28)…took sixth place in the 200 free (1:45.35), finished eighth in the 500 free (4:48.03), ninth in the 1650 free (16:47.12) and thirteenth in the 200 medley relay (1:41.35) versus Oakland, Green Bay and Wright State (Nov. 4-5)…earned twenty-seventh place in the 500 free (4:43.87) and finished in thirtieth place in the 200 free (1:45.36) at Northwestern’s TYR Invitational (Nov. 18-20)…notched a couple of fourth place finishes in both the 1000 free (10:07.30) and the 500 free (4:50.58) and took sixth in the 200 free relay (1:31.71) against Cleveland State (Jan. 14)…grabbed fifth place in the 800 free relay (7:07.57), sixth in both the 1650 free (17:08.43) and the 400 free relay (3:13.74), ninth in the 500 free (4:47.12) and tenth in the 200 free (1:45.45) at the Flames Invitational versus Olivet-Nazarene and Milwaukee (Jan. 20-21)…finished in eight place in the 500 free (4:35.34) and tenth in the 1650 free (16:15.05) at the Horizon League Championships (Feb. 22-25).

AS A FRESHMAN (2015-16): Placed seventh in the 1000 free (10:18.19) at a triple dual meet against University of Chicago, Northwestern and Denison (Oct. 24) … finished fourth in the 1000 free (10:07.40) and 500 free (4:55.30) versus Olivet Nazarene (Oct. 30) … grabbed fifth place finishes in the 1000 free (10:08.95) and 500 free (4:49.99) against Milwaukee (Nov. 7) … took third place in the 1000 free (10:03.17) and fourth 500 free (4:50.02) at Green Bay (Dec. 12) … notched fourth place finishes in the 1000 free (9:59.59) and 500 free (4:51.73) at Cleveland State (Jan. 15) … finished 10th in the 500 free (4:33.34) and 1650 free in the 11th (16:18.05) at the Horizon League Championships (Feb. 24-27).

PREP/PERSONAL: Member of county, conference, and sectional championship team at Stevenson High School...finished in the top 12 at state four times...was the sectional champion in the 500 free as a senior...son of Denise and Vernon Koto...sister Melanie swam at IIT...majoring in biology and psychology.
