AS A SENIOR (2020-21): Opened the season with a second place finish and career-best score of 310.00 on the 3-meter board against Milwaukee...was third in 1-meter diving in that meet...had twin third-place showings in both diving events against Cleveland State...improved his 3-meter score in his next meet against Milwaukee...made the finals in both diving events at the Horizon League Championships...took third place in 3-meter diving, and sixth in 1-meter, both of which were career bests.
AS A JUNIOR (2019-20): NCAA Zone qualifier, 1-meter and 3-meter diving...CSCAA All-American...Opened the season with a third place finish on the 1-meter board at Northwestern...increased his 1-meter score in each of the next three meets...achieved then-season highs on both boards, and finished second in 1-meter, against Milwaukee...came in third in the 1-meter event at the House of Champions...was third on both boards on day one, and second in both events on day two, against Cleveland State and IUPUI...closed the regular season with consecutive third place finishes on the 1-meter board...set personal records on both boards at the UIC Diving Invitational...finished seventh in 3-meter and eighth in 1-meter at the Horizon League Championships...qualified for the NCAA Zone meet on both boards for the first time in his career...named an All-American by the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America.
AS A SOPHOMORE (2018-19): Took third place on both the 1-meter and 3-meter boards in the season opener against Michigan State...was fourth in 3-meter and sixth in 1-meter against Northwestern and Chicago...finished in the top five on both boards against Oakland...was the fourth place finisher in both events against Milwaukee...took fifth in 1-meter and sixth in 3-meter at the TYR Invitational...best showing at the Cleveland State-IUPUI meet was fifth place in 3-meter on day 1...finished third on the 3-meter board with a career high score at the UIC Diving Invitational...took fourth on 1-meter and third on 3-meter against Green Bay...qualified for the consolation finals in both events at the Horizon League Championships, taking 13th in the 1-meter event and 10th in 3-meter.
AS A FRESHMAN (2017-18): Dove to a fifth place finish on the 1-meter board (253.27) and a sixth place showing on the 3-meter board (211.80) in the season opener against Green Bay and Valparaiso...improved to fourth on 1-meter and third on 3-meter against Northwestern and Chicago...improved his 3-meter score for the second straight meet (243.60) against Milwaukee...was the fourth place finisher on both boards against Oakland...had his highest combined score to date at the TYR Invitational...set a season high 273.45 on the 1-meter board against Olivet Nazarene...posted his highest 3-meter score of the season (275.40) at the UIC Diving Invitational...qualified for the consolation finals on both boards at the Horizon League Championships...finished 15th in the conference in both events.
PREP/PERSONAL: Took two All-Conference awards...led his Downers Grove North team to two state appearances...was the only diver in school history to earn two state medals...son of Carolyn and Douglas Murphy...currently enrolled as a kinesiology major.
