AS A SENIOR (2017-18): Began the season with a second place finish in the 200 free (1:44.28) and a fourth place showing in the 500 free (4:45.39) against Green Bay and Valparaiso.  Was part of the first place 400 free relay team...Took fifth in the 500 and third in the 1000 (9:46.18), and swam the second leg of the winning 400 free relay in the quad with Northwestern, Rutgers, and Chicago...was a triple second-place finisher, in the 500, 1000, and 400 free relay, against Milwaukee...finished in the top five in the 500 (4:44.28) and 1000 (9:42.45) against Oakland...Claimed a top-10 finish in the 1650 and the 800 free relay in the competitive TYR Invitational...Took third in both the 200 (1:43.59) and 500 (4:41.55) on day 1 against Cleveland State...swam the 1000 (4th) and 400 IM (6th) on day 2...was the anchor leg of the fifth place 200 free relay team...Had three podium finishes in his three individual events at the Horizon League Championships.  He finished second in the 500 free (4:25.31), fifth in the 1650 (15:41.30), and eighth in the 200 (1:39.97).  He also led off the 800 free relay, where the team finished third...named the team's Most Valuable Swimmer.

AS A JUNIOR (2016-17): Finished fifth in the 1000 free (9:55.02) and sixth in the 500 free (4:48.36) at the triple dual meet against the University of Chicago, Northwestern and Olivet-Nazarene (Oct. 22)…grabbed second in the 1000 free (9:41.32), third in the 200 free relay (1:27.29) and fifth in the 500 free (4:44.08) against Boston College (Oct. 28)…placed second in the 1650 free (16:04.53), fourth in the 500 free (4:43.14), fifth in the 200 free (1:45.18) and seventh in the 200 free relay (1:27.60) versus Oakland, Green Bay and Wright State on Nov. 4-5…captured the top spot in the 1,000 free (9:48.26) and third in both the 500 free (4:46.75) and 400 free relay (1:27.60) at Milwaukee (Nov. 12)…claimed first in the 1000 free (9:46.69), second in the 500 free (4:46.46) and fourth in the 200 free relay with a time of 1:27.20 against Cleveland State (Jan. 14)…took second in both the 800 free relay (6:54.06) and the 1650 free (16:28.49), grabbed third in the 400 free relay (3:11.13), fourth in the 200 free relay and sixth in the 500 free (4:45.51) at the Flames Invitational (Jan. 20-21)…notched a seventh place finish in the 800 free relay (6:51.80) and ninth in the 1650 free (16:21.91) at Northwestern’s TYR Invitational (Nov. 18-20)…earned third place in both the 800 free relay (6:39.32) and the 1650 free (15:42.40) at the Horizon League Championships (Feb. 22-25) where he also finished fourth in the 500 free (4:30.67) and tenth in the 200 free (1:40.61).

AS A SOPHOMORE (2015-16): Finished third in the 1000 free (9:55.04) at a triple dual meet against the University of Chicago, Northwestern, and Denison (Oct. 24) … grabbed second place in the 1000 free (9:52.52) and third in the 500 free (4:51.49) against Olivet Nazarene (Oct. 30) … captured the top spot for the 1000 free (9:43.78) and second in the 500 free (4:44.68) at home versus Milwaukee (Nov. 7) … claimed third in the 1000 free (9:49.16) and sixth in the 200 free (1:46.81) in a double dual meet against Oakland and Wright State (Nov. 14) … finished tenth in the 1650 free (16:17.19) and 200 free (1:42.26) at the TYR Invitational (Nov. 20-22) … notched a first place finish in the 1000 free (9:55.92) and second place in the 500 free (4:47.91) at Green Bay (Dec. 12) … claimed second place in the 500 free (4:45.45) at Cleveland State (Jan. 15) … took first in the 200 free relay (1:26.73) and second in the 1650 free (16:33.73) at home versus Olivet Nazarene (Jan. 23) … captured third place in the 1650 free (15:47.44), fourth in the 200 free (1:40.73) and sixth in the 500 free (4:32.73) at the Horizon League Championships (Feb. 24-27).

AS A FRESHMAN (2014-15): Finished first in the 1000 free (9:54.63), second in the 500 free (4:48.32) and third in the 400 free relay (3:18.98) versus Wright State (Oct. 11) ... came in third in the 1000 free (9:52.65) against Northwestern and Oakland (Oct. 25) ... placed third in the 1650 free (16:41.49), second in the 500 free (4:48.20) and fourth in the 200 free relay (1:28.54) against Milwaukee (Nov. 8) ... claimed second in the 1000 free (9:48.17), for an eight place spot in the Horizon League Individual regular season standings, and second in the 500 free (4:43.84) versus Olivet Nazarene (Nov. 14) ... finds fourth place in the Horizon League Individual regular season standings for his performance in the 1650 free (16:20.54) at the TYR Invitational (Nov. 23) ... earned second in the 1000 free (9:49.23) and first in the 500 free (4:45.34) and the 400 free relay (3:07.26) against Green Bay (Jan. 10) ... placed first in the 200 free (1:43.29) versus Valparaiso (Jan. 17) ... finished first in the 1000 free (9:42.75), fourth in the 200 free (1:47.22) and first in the 500 free (4:41.09) versus Cleveland State (Feb. 6) ... collected a third place finish in the 500 free (4:30.53) at the Horizon League Championship (Feb. 25-28).

PREP/PERSONAL: Four-time state champion in the 500 free at Red Wing High School...was all-state all four years as well...added the state championship in the 200 free as a senior...set five school records...son of Maureen and Steve Alms...majoring in Business Management.
