Brandon K. Winbush began serving as the Director of Information Technology for UIC Athletics on March 22, 2021.
An experienced professional, he joined the Flames following more than seven years as Senior IT Director for The Big Ten Conference in nearby Rosemont, Ill. Winbush assisted the conference office in providing sports administration to its 14 member institutions, providing great insight into audio visual systems, network administration and project management from 2013-20.
Prior to joining the B1G team, Winbush worked as a Systems Engineer from 2001-13 in the Pathology Department at Northwestern University's Feinberg School of Medicine. There he provided IT direction to accomplish business objectives for clinical and research environments.
Winbush has also worked with the Big Ten Academic Alliance, formerly the Committee on Institutional Cooperation (CIC), and University Housing Services at Illinois State University, his alma mater.
Winbush obtained a Bachelor of Science in computer science-computer info systems from Illinois State in May 1997.
