UIC Athletics

Erin Kuyawa came to UIC in February 2026 and serves as an Academic Advisor on the Student-Athlete Academic Services (SAAS) team, working closely with the Flames' men's basketball, baseball and women's golf programs. She also provides support in other areas of the SAAS portfolio, including supervision of the Port Academic Center.

Kuyawa joined the Flames Family after spending nearly three years at The Ohio State University (2023-26) as a senior athletic academic counselor. While with the Buckeyes, she was responsible for providing academic support and counsel for OSU's men's lacrosse, softball and women's soccer programs. She began her academic advising career as a graduate assistant in the LAKER Academic Success Center at her alma mater, Grand Valley State, from 2021-23, focused on supporting seven of the school's athletics programs (men's and women's golf, men's and women's tennis, women's soccer, women's volleyball and softball). While at GVSU, she also held roles as a facilities student supervisor and an intern in the athletics customer service division, working in athletics ticket and merchandise sales.

Kuyawa earned a pair of degrees from Grand Valley State, completing work on her bachelor's degree in sport management in 2021, followed by her Master of Education degree in student affairs leadership in 2023. She was a goalkeeper on the Lakers' soccer team for two seasons (2017-18) and continues to work part-time as a goalkeeper coach at PSG Academy in Chicago, following time in a similar role at Quick Touch Soccer Development in Columbus, Ohio, from 2023-26.
