Jami Sponaugle joined UIC as one of the Directors of Communications on February 17th, 2025.
Sponaugle comes from Illinois Tech, where she served as the Assistant Sports Information Director from 2022-2025. At Illinois Tech, Sponaugle helped cover all 19 NCAA Division III programs, including graphic design, social media content, live stating, photography, videography, and press releases.
Native to Cincinnati, Ohio, Sponaugle graduated from Mount St. Joseph University, where she was a member of the women’s soccer team and began working in athletic communications, with a bachelor’s degree in Sports Management. Following her time at MSJ, she continued her education at Anderson University (Ind.), where she was the Sports Information Graduate Assistant while simultaneously earning her Master of Business Administration.
Sponaugle will serve as the main communications contact for the Flames women’s soccer, softball, cross country, and track & field programs.
Jami currently resides on the Northside of Chicago and spends her free time exploring Chicago and competing in different soccer leagues throughout the city.
