Along with his current assignments, Schweigert also serves as the sport supervisor for the UIC men's tennis program.

Schweigert joined the Flames family following more than a decade as Assistant Director of Sports Performance at Northwestern. He worked directly with the men’s basketball program and helped the team make its first-ever NCAA Tournament appearance in 2017. Schweigert also served highly successful men’s and women’s golf squads, the latter having won three Big Ten championships in his tenure and earning a national runner-up finish in 2017.  He also worked directly with other programs throughout his stay including men’s and women’s swimming and diving, cross country, fencing, and football.

Prior to his arrival in Evanston, Schweigert worked at the University of Georgia as an Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach for Olympic sports for more than four years. He worked with men’s basketball, women’s volleyball and track and field. Additionally, he has worked at Northern Illinois and with the Chicago Bulls. With the Bulls, Schweigert assisted with the implementation of strength and conditioning programs for professional athletes, while also executing testing and analysis for prospects entered in the 2004 NBA Draft.

Schweigert is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and a Master Strength and Conditioning Coach Certified (MSCC). He is an active member of the National Strength and Conditioning Association and the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association.
