Ty Battle joined the UIC Athletics family in August 2026 as Program Coordinator, Advancement. In that role, she contributes to planning, coordinating, and executing a wide range of development, engagement, and operational initiatives that support UIC Athletics' mission to enhance student-athlete success and elevate the university's athletic profile. She also assists in advancing alumni and donor engagement, managing events, supporting fundraising efforts, and coordinating communications and stewardship activities.

Battle came to UIC after most recently serving as director of women's basketball operations and assistant coach at Northern Illinois University (2025-26) and as a member of the fan events and experience team with the NHL's Chicago Blackhawks (2024-25). She also has a background in program coordination as a assistant at Naperville, Illinois-based Kidokinetics (2024-25), and completed an internship with the NBA's Future Basketball Operations Stars (2023-24).

Battle played basketball collegiately at Indiana State University (2017-19) and the University of Delaware (2019-21), twice being named first-team All-CAA, as well as appearing on the CAA All-Defensive Team and All-Tournament Team and scoring more than 1,000 career points at Delaware. She went on to play professionally in England and France from 2022-24, during which time, she also served as a marketing assistant and brand ambassador, working with multiple media outlets in numerous languages.

Battle graduated from Delaware in 2021 with her bachelor's degree in sports management and went on to earn her master's degree in international business from Delaware in 2022. She is the daughter of former NIU and UIUC men's basketball standout Kenny Battle, who was a 1989 NBA first-round draft pick by the Detroit Pistons and played four NBA seasons for the Phoenix Suns (who acquired him on draft day in 1989), Denver Nuggets, Boston Celtics and Golden State Warriors.
