Four Flames either matched or exceeded season-high marks in route to UIC's fourth Horizon League victory of the season.

Â
The Flames opened up the match with a 12-9 lead in game one, when a five-point streak extended their lead to eight, 17-9. A WSU kill put a temporary halt on the streak, but UIC quickly responded with another four straight to bring the score to 21-10. The Raiders fought back with six unanswered points of their own, 21-16. The two teams went back and forth to bring UIC to game point, 24-18, and WSU added three more before the Flames closed out set one, 25-21.
Â
Game two started with a 17-11 UIC lead, but the Raiders proved to be resilient, eventually tying the score at 22. A pair of kills from Powell put the Flames within one point of the win, but WSU scored a pair to even the score at 24. A WSU service error and a kill from their own Katie Klusman made it 25 all, but a kill from Groot and a Raider handling error allowed the Flames to take the extended set two, 27-25.
Â
Wright State jumped out to an 11-2 lead early in the third frame and never looked back, eventually taking the set 25-17 to avoid the shutout.
Â
The Flames regained focus in game four, and created a 17-10 cushion to start. The Raiders threatened a comeback, eventually coming within two at the 22-20 mark, but Powell came through with a termination to make it 23-20. A pair of kills from WSU's Megan Hopkins and two more Powell kills brought UIC to match point, 24-22, when Groot took a feed from
Nicole Johnson to finish the set as well as the match in favor of the Flames, 25-22. Â
Â
UIC will return home next weekend for its final matches of the regular season as they welcome Youngstown State and Northern Kentucky on Friday (Nov.11) and Saturday (Nov.12), respectively.
