CHICAGO – The UIC women's basketball team (8-20, 1-16 HL) snapped a 17-game losing streak with a solid 73-55 victory over Northern Kentucky (8-20, 6-11 HL) on Friday afternoon at the UIC Pavilion. The win was The Flames' first in Horizon League play and first at home since Dec. 18.

Second Half Highlights
  • Taylor Toney continued her hot streak, drawing the first bucket of the second half, and Tia Tedford kept the threes coming, 36-23.
  • The Flames went 0-for-4, allowing the Norse to take the next five, 36-28. Toney ended the bad streak, converting a layup into a three-point play with a foul shot, 39-28. Both teams put in a pair of freebies, and Tedford sank her second triple of the afternoon to extend UIC's lead, 46-30.
  • Kara Wilson added three, making her the fifth player to sink a trey, 51-32. Gabryelle Johnson drove in a pair of layups as the Flames' lead eclipsed 20 points at the end of the third quarter, 55-34.
