Evansville, Ind. - UIC women's basketball head coach Tim Eatman can't wait for the day when he has his full team healthy and on the floor at the same time.
Playing without three-point assassins Erin Partaker (flu) and Amanda Bartz (sprained ankle) on Tuesday night, the Flames fell 69-44 at Evansville.
UIC, which fell to 1-7 on the season, finished up its four-game road swing 0-4. The Purple Aces improved to 3-4 with the win.
Evansville jumped out early on the Flames as senior Shinko Ono scored eight of her season-high 16 points in a 25-5 run over the first 10 minutes of the contest. UIC would never get closer than 15 in the eventual 25-point defeat.
UIC received its usual one-two offensive punch from Kimberly Henry (15 points) and Melea Clark (13 points, 5 rebounds) as the duo combined for 28 of the Flames' 44 points. Jaysie Chambers added six points - all in the second half - while Josie Cole chipped in five points and four rebounds.
All in all, 10 different Aces scored led by Ono's 16. Jamie Gray was the other Evansville player in double figures with 12.
Eatman's crew, which last played at home on Nov. 23, will return to the friendly confines of the UIC Pavilion on Saturday, Dec. 23, as they host crosstown rival DePaul at 4:30 p.m.
