Cold Shooting Flames Unable To Top Detroit

DETROIT (AP) - Willie Green scored 16 points and Detroit held Illinois-Chicago to 26.7 percent shooting in the second half en route to a 73-55 victory Saturday, the 15th straight home victory for the Titans.

Detroit (15-8, 6-3 Midwestern Collegiate) led only 29-28 at the half and fell behind 36-31 early in the second half. But the Titans took command with a 17-3 run in the second half, opening a 59-44 lead with 6:36 left. Terrell Riggs, who had 11 points and 10 rebounds in the game, scored seven points during the run.

Desmond Ferguson scored 15 points for Detroit and Rashad Phillips scored 14 despite shooting 2-of-12, including 0-of-6 from 3-point range. Theandre Kimbrough led Illinois-Chicago (7-17, 2-7) with 15 points and Maurice Brown scored 10.
