Box Score

The UIC baseball team (2-10) picked up its second win of the season Sunday afternoon with a 15-8 victory over Saint Louis (3-7).

The Flames opened up the game with a two-out solo home run by senior second baseman Eric Duke in the first inning. Saint Louis, however, responded with two runs in the bottom half of the first, but UIC wasted no time in reclaiming its lead as it tallied four runs in the second and six more in the third to break the game open.

Three UIC players enjoyed a multiple-hit afternoon led by Duke, who finished the game with a 3-for-6 showing at the plate, with five runs batted in, two runs scored and his second home run of the season. Curtis Granderson and Andy Deahl also tallied a pair of hits in the victory.

On the mound, starter Sean McNichols earned his first win of the year as he tossed six complete innings.
