Dayton, Ohio - The UIC women's basketball team was unable to overcome a poor first-half shooting performance on Saturday afternoon as Wright State spoiled the Flames' bid for a third-straight win with a 65-53 victory at the Nutter Center.

UIC shot just 21% in the opening period and converted on only five field goal attempts as they went into intermission trailing 31-17. The Raiders, meanwhile, shot 50% (13-for-26) in the half and used an 18-6 run to close out the stanza to build their 14-point advantage.

Wright State (5-17, 2-7 MCC) would carry that run over into the second half, eventually building its lead to 22 (52-30) with 9:03 left. The Flames, who did rebound to shoot 48% (14-for-29) in the final period, would chop that lead to 11 (60-49) in the waning moments, but it proved to be to little to late as UIC dropped to 7-15 overall and 4-5 in the MCC.

Senior Kimberly Henry led three Flames' scorers in doubles figures with 13 points. Melea Clark added 11 points and six rebounds while sophomore LeKesha Williams chipped in with 10 points and five rebounds. Amanda Bartz led the team on the glass, corralling seven boards in the contest.

Reggen Stewart paced the Raiders' attack, finishing with a game-high 22 points while also ripping down eight boards.

The Flames are back in action on Thursday, Feb. 15, as they begin their final regular-season homestand with Cleveland State at the UIC Pavilion at 7:00 p.m.
