Oak Park, Ill. - The Ball State women's tennis team won the doubles point by taking two-of-three matches and didn't look back, as the Cardinals won the overall match, 5-2, at the Oak Park Tennis and Fitness Center on Saturday afternoon.
Alyson Stalzer triumphed at No. 6 singles, beating Ball State's Kara Sullivan 6-4, 6-1, elevating her into a tie for fourth-place in UIC all-time singles wins with former UIC player Michelle Glendenning with 64.
Stalzer also teamed with fellow senior Karen Liwanpo for the win at No. 3 doubles, beating BSU's Sullivan and Jill Wieman 8-3.
Britta Dohmann also was a winner for the Flames, winning the No. 3 singles match in three sets, 5-7, 6-4, 6-2 in comeback fashion.
The Flames will be back in action this weekend, as they will spend Saturday and Sunday in Des Moines, Iowa competing against Drake and Iowa State.
