Dayton, Ohio, - Success has become synonymous with the University of Illinois at Chicago women's tennis program, especially in Horizon League play.
That reputation didn't take any hits over the weekend, as the Flames remained perfect in league play beating Detroit and Cleveland State in Detroit on Saturday, then traveling to Dayton, Ohio on Sunday and thumping Wright State.
Each victory was to the tune of a 7-0 outcome, as UIC kept their league opponents scoreless on the year, now with a season margin of victory at 42-0.
Against Detroit, the Flames used the doubles portion of the match to get it going with Nicole Derouin and Ayca Gumuscu pairing to take the No.1 match, 8-2. Britta Dohmann and Zvjezdana Malesevic took the second doubles match, 8-2, while Alyson Stalzer and Karen Liwanpo were victorious at No.3, 8-3.
After Derouin, Gumuscu, Dohmann and Zvjezdana Malesevic won their singles matches, Zorica Malesevic and Kim Harris entered the mix to win at No.5 and No.6 singles in dominating fashion, winning their matches, 6-0, 6-0.
Versus Cleveland State, Gumuscu moved into the No.1 singles slot to pick-up the victory as Derouin sat out the singles portion of the match, while Dohmann won the No.2 match and Karen Liwanpo moved up to the third slot for the win.
Zvjezdana Malesevic won at No.4 singles, while Stalzer took the fifth match.
The Flames also handed Wright State a 7-0 loss on Sunday.
The women's tennis team is off until Fri., April 19 when Butler pays a visit to the West Side for a 2:00 PM match.
