Chicago, Ill. - University of Illinois at Chicago Head Men's Basketball Coach Jimmy Collins announced on Monday afternoon that redshirt sophomore guard Mike Smith has left the Flames program.

Smith played in 10 games during his brief career at UIC, averaging 0.9 points and 0.6 rebounds per game.

The 6-foot-2 reserve saw action in nine games as a freshman and then redshirted the 2003-04 season. This year, Smith had played in one game, tallying two assists and one rebound at Bowling Green on Nov. 24th.

The Flames, who sit at 1-2 on the year, will look to even their record on Tuesday, Nov. 30th, when they travel to Normal, Ill., to take on Illinois State at 7:00 p.m.
