Cleveland, Ohio - The UIC Volleyball team fell to Horizon League foe Cleveland State in four games (30-25, 16-30, 19-30, 21-30) on the road on Saturday, October 15th.
The Flames came out strong in game one, beating the Vikings 30-25 with 20 kills. After hitting .432 as a team in the opening set, though, UIC would watch Cleveland State rally to hit .312 as team over the final three games to snap the Flames' six-match conference winning streak.
UIC was led by sophomore Katarina Nedeljkovic's double-double of 11 kills and 17 digs, and junior Ambria Springer's 14 kills. Julie Popp added 15 digs on the afternoon and both Springer and sophomore Liz Hrebic tallied three service aces.
Jenna Maddock's paced the Vikings (13-6, 5-2) with 13 kills and 13 digs.
UIC moves to 10-12 on the season and 6-1 in Horizon League action with the loss.
The Flames will continue on the road for four more matches, beginning with UW-Green Bay this Friday, October 21, at 7 p.m.
