Peoria, Ill. - The UIC volleyball team fell to non-conference Bradley University (13-11) Tuesday night. Despite leading on offense and defense, the Braves swept the Flames 3-0. This moves UIC's overall record to 10-14.
Bradley crept by UIC in game one, only beating the Flames by two points (30-28). The Braves then took game two 30-22, tying UIC with 17 kills a piece. Forcing game three to 31 points, the Flames fought hard, but Bradley would grab the 3-0 win.
UIC was led by sophomore Katarina Nedeljkovic with 18 kills and junior Maura McCarthy with 12 digs. Junior Katie Kozak added another 46 assists and nine digs on the night.
Bradley's Lindsay Stalzer led the Braves with 17 kills and ten digs.
UIC will play its last road match this Friday, October 28th versus Horizon League opponent, Loyola at 7 pm. The Flames then play its four remaining regular-season contests at the Flames Athletic Center before hosting the 2005 Horizon League Volleyball tournament, November 17-20th.
