Chicago, Ill. - The UIC volleyball team notched its fourth win in its last five matches with a three-game sweep of host Chicago State, 30-25, 30-23, 30-27, on Tuesday night at the Dickens Center.
The Flames are now 7-10 overall this season while the Cougars dropped to 1-17.
Sophomore Katarina Nedeljkovic led UIC with a match-high 14 kills while adding nine digs and a service ace. Junior Ambria Springer chipped in, totaling 13 kills and six blocks
Junior Jillian Kufta and sophomore Liz Hrebic provided strong defensive support for the Flames in the win with double-digit dig performances. Kufta recorded a team-high 11 digs while Hrebic finished with 10.
Horizon League assist leader Katie Kozak dished out 38 helpers in the match.
Chicago State was paced by the eight kills, seven digs and seven blocks from Chrissy Davis.
The Flames will continue on the road this weekend as they look to remain undefeated in Horizon League play. UIC takes on Butler on Friday night, before heading to Dayton, Ohio, to meet Wright State on Saturday.
