Dizon shot 86 percent from the line, 50 percent from the field, grabbed six steals and seven assists in UIC's win. Senior Krystal Hugelier posted 16 points and two blocks and junior Kelly True added 11 points on the night.

Senior Megan Sparks led the Panthers with 16 points and Ellen Canale picked up a double-double with 13 points and ten rebounds.

Hugelier sparked an 11-0 run for the Flames in the first half with a trey to give UIC an 11-2 advantage. The Flames jumped ahead by 11 points on a jumper by freshman Ashley Hluska with 12:09 on the clock.

EIU knocked down six straight buckets to get within four (22-18) at the 8:07 mark, but UIC continued to capitalize on Eastern Illinois's 15 first half turnovers and grabbed the 37-31 lead going into the half.

Scoring 53.6 percent from the field in the second half, the Flames continued to put points on the board. UIC's Hugelier hit a trey to give the Flames a 14-point lead and a steal by Dizon in the last two minutes, sealed the 86-77 win for the Flames.

With Eastern Illinois's run and gun offense, UIC was forced to change the pace of the game and Head Coach Lisa Ryckbosch was proud of her team's performance.

"When we had to settle down and get good shots, I thought we did," Ryckbosch explained. "When it was all said and done, we figured out how to slow down the game and we picked up the win."

UIC hits the road this Friday, December 2nd to take on Northern Illinois at 7 pm.
