Syracuse, N.Y. - Senior Justin Bowen and sophomore Othyus Jeffers both recorded double-doubles and UIC out-rebounded its opponent for the 11th-straight game, but it was not enough to earn a victory on Wednesday night as Syracuse outlasted the Flames 75-61 in front of 16,067 at the Carrier Dome.
UIC had its three-game winning streak snapped with the loss and now sits at 6-5 on the year. The Orange improved to 9-2 this season with the victory.

UIC trailed Syracuse 32-30 at intermission, closing out the first half on an 8-0 run.
The Orange would gain control in the opening moments of the second stanza, though, with a 7-0 surge to jump ahead 39-30 just 90 seconds into the period.
The Flames would cut Syracuse's advantage back down to four (41-37), but 10 straight points by the Orange gave them a 14-point cushion they would never relinquish.
