Chicago, Ill.- The UIC women's tennis team couldn't get much going against a strong DePaul team, as the crosstown Blue Demons downed the Flames 7-0 at the UIC Outdoor Courts on Wednesday.
UIC (6-9) fell behind early by dropping the doubles point despite a strong comeback win for the duo of Melanie Humphrey and Grace Gill-Morlis. The tandem downed Bojana Murisic and Anja Mihadinec by an 8-7 count.
DePaul (14-7) then held off the Flames by sweeping every singles match.
UIC hits the road for a two-match road trip this weekend. The Flames face Louisville in Louisville, Kentucky this Saturday at 1 p.m., then head to Indianapolis to face Horizon League rival Butler on Sunday at 9 a.m.
