Women's Gymnastics Falls At No. 13 Auburn

Auburn, Ala.- Solid all-around outings from freshman Zandre Labuschagne and senior Veronique Meunier were not enough to propel the UIC women's gymnastics team past No. 13 Auburn on Friday night, as the Flames fell 195.775-192.625 to the host Tigers at Beard-Eaves Memorial Coliseum.

Labuschagne led UIC with a third-place all-around score of 38.800, highlighted by a third-place bars routine that scored a 9.775.

Meunier followed with an all-around tally of 38.375. The senior took fourth on vault with a 9.750.

Junior Jessie Jaworowicz led UIC on beam with a fourth-place 9.775. Fellow junior Rachael Zelinski paced the Flames on floor exercise with a 9.675.

UIC heads to Normal, Ill., for the annual State of Illinois Classic on March 18.
