Bradenton, Fla.- Behind another strong outing from junior righthander Zach Peterson and a pair of RBI from both Bart Babineaux and Jake Carr, the UIC baseball team picked up a 6-4 victory over Eastern Illinois on Friday afternoon.

Peterson pitched 7.1 innings, giving up just one earned run, to pick up the victory and improve to 2-2 on the season.

UIC moved to 4-9 on the year, snapping a four-game skid.

Eastern Illinois fell to 6-8.

The Flames play the second of their four-game set in Bradenton against Indiana on Saturday at 6:00 p.m. CST.
