Chicago, Ill.- Even though storms moved the match indoors, the UIC women's tennis team was unfazed as the Flames picked up a 6-1 win over Youngstown State at the Evergreen Racquet and Fitness Club on Sunday morning.

UIC (8-9, 5-0 Horizon League) swept the three doubles matches to pick up the early lead heading into singles competition, where the Flames took five out of six matches to take the dual match victory.

All five singles wins were straight-set victories from Iris Jaklin, Callan Smith, Molly Smith, Grace Gill-Morlis and Christina Oum, while the Flames' only loss was a three-set heartbreaker in Corey Steven's match against Gina Peretti.

Steven rallied from a 6-2 loss in the first set to win the second frame by a 6-3 count. That forced a tiebreaker, which turned out to be an exciting dual until Peretti edged Steven, 10-8.

Youngstown State fell to 4-8 overall and 2-2 in league action.

UIC hosts Louisville at the UIC Outdoor Courts on Saturday.
