Chicago, Ill. - The UIC men's basketball team will look for the season series sweep of Cleveland State on Saturday afternoon when the Flames (9-12, 4-4) play host to the Vikings (7-14, 1-7) at 2 p.m. at the UIC Pavilion.
UIC bested Cleveland State, 72-62, back on Dec. 27 in Cleveland, moving the Flames to 9-1 in their last 10 meetings with the Vikings.
In that contest, junior Othyus Jeffers sparked a second-half comeback by UIC, tallying 21 points, 14 rebounds, seven assists and four steals. Junior T.J. Gray added 17 points in the win.
The Flames enter Saturday's rematch having dropped their last three decisions, including a 77-57 setback at UW-Green Bay on Wednesday. UIC is currently locked in a three-way tie for third place in the Horizon League at 4-4 with Loyola and Detroit.
Cleveland State is in ninth place in the league standings at 1-7 and has lost five of its last six games. The Vikings have had a week to prepare for UIC, last hitting the hardwood in a Jan. 20 loss at Youngstown State.
