Peoria, Ill. After dropping game one, UIC volleyball notched three straight to top Bradley, 3-1 (22-30, 30-23, 30-28, 30-26), on Monday night in Peoria. Junior Christin Hunt helped guide the Flames to a four-game win over the Braves with 16 kills, while freshman Taylor Szatkowski grabbed her 19th double-figure dig match with a team-high 18.
Sophomore Casie Sullivan totaled eight kills, 46 assists and four blocks. Sullivan also led UIC with a .571 attack percentage. Sophomore Lana Lobdell owned a team-best seven blocks and added 10 kills against Bradley.
Freshman Epiphany Davis tabbed 10 kills and six blocks. Sophomore Emily McGinnis tabbed a team-high three service aces and totaled 13 digs in the win.
Bradley's Nikki Pierzchala owned a match-high 22 kills and Kaitlyn Comiskey totaled 28 digs.
Both teams struggled offensively in game one, but Bradley totaled seven more kills (17) than UIC to take a 1-0 lead (30-23).
UIC bounced back in game two, holding the Braves to a zero attack percentage. The Flames dominated on defense with six blocks and forced Bradley to commit 13 errors. The Braves tied game two at 11-11, but UIC stormed ahead and tied the match at 1-1 (30-23).
The Flames posted a .350 offensive clip in game three. Hunt totaled eight kills en route to a 30-28 victory.
Trailing most of game four, Bradley sparked a 10-5 run late in the frame to tie it up at 25-25. Despite the late comeback, UIC answered with a 4-1 run to capture the match victory (30-26).
UIC returns to Chicago to face Youngstown State and Cleveland State this weekend on Oct. 26 and 27 at the Flames Athletic Center.
