Clinton Township, Mich.- The UIC men's soccer team completed the longest road stretch in school history on Sunday with a 0-0 draw at Detroit.
The Flames moved their overall record to 4-3-4, with an 0-0-2 mark in the Horizon League. Detroit is now 4-5-4 overall and 0-1-2 in conference play.
UIC continued to dominate in nearly every statistical category. The Flames outshot the Titans 18-11 and held a 6-4 edge in attempts on target. Pavle Dundjer had five shots, while Charlie Trout unleashed four shots with two on goal.
The visiting Flames also held a noticeable 7-1 advantage in corner kicks.
Neither team was able to scratch the scoreboard, though, as both defenses held through regulation and two overtime periods.
Jovan Bubonja made four saves during the game and chalked up his fourth clean sheet of the year. UIC notched its fifth shutout in 11 matches this season.
UIC completed the seven-match road stretch with a 2-2-3 record.
Both teams combined for 49 fouls in Sunday's physical affair.
The Flames return home for five of their next six contests, beginning this Friday, Oct. 12 versus Butler at 7:00 p.m. at Flames Field.
