Chicago, Ill.- The UIC men's basketball team closes a brief two-game homestand against Horizon League foe Green Bay at the Pavilion this Saturday at 3:00 p.m.

Fans who bring a non-perishable food item to the Pavilion on Saturday can purchase a ticket to the game at a reduced price as part of the UIC Athletic Department's 'Hoops for Hunger' event to benefit the Cathedral Shelter of Chicago on the city's West Side. Fans who bring anything from a canned good or a box of cereal can buy tickets for only five dollars, a savings of 10 dollars off the usual single-game ticket price.

The Flames (4-4, 1-0 Horizon League) are coming off a 91-73 win over Milwaukee in their Horizon League opener this past Thursday. Josh Mayo led the way with 29 points in just 27 minutes of work.

UIC has been red-hot from the field in three games at home this year. The Flames are shooting 56 percent (94-for-169) from the field at the Pavilion, including a 61 percent (35-for-57) clip from beyond the arc on their home court.

Mayo has paced the home charge for UIC. The junior guard is averaging 25.3 points per game at the Pavilion this season, shooting 68 percent (26-for-38) from the floor and 69 percent (11-for-16) from downtown within the Flames' friendly confines.

The blistering performance from the field at home has helped UIC win all three of its home contests by an average of 17.6 points per game.

Green Bay (6-2, 1-0 Horizon League) will bring its four-game winning streak into the Pavilion this Saturday after downing Loyola in its conference lid-lifter. Mike Schachtner leads the Phoenix with 19.8 points per game.

The Flames will seek to go 2-0 in league play in back-to-back seasons for the first time since four straight 2-0 circuit starts from 1991-92 through 1994-95.

The two teams will face off for the 75th time, marking the most games that UIC has played against one opponent.

Fans are still raving about junior guard Spencer Stewart's successful shot from three-quarters court near the end of Thursday's Milwaukee game. The amazing play came in at No. 6 on ESPN SportsCenter's Top Plays on Thursday night/Friday morning.
