Chicago, Ill.- Josh Mayo scored 15 points and pulled down a career-high eight rebounds in the UIC men's basketball team's 65-55 loss to UW-Green Bay at the UIC Pavilion on Wednesday evening.
The Flames fell to 10-17 overall and 5-9 in Horizon League play, while the Phoenix moved to 14-12 and 7-7 in league games.
Ryan Evanochko scored 21 points to pace the Phoenix.
A three-pointer by Robert Bush gave the Flames its biggest lead of the game, 27-20, with 4:34 left in the first. The Phoenix followed with a 13-2 run to cap the first period and put UIC in a 33-29 bind at intermission.
In the second half UIC would trim the deficit to three on two occasions, but the Flames were unable to get any closer.
Scott VanderMeer blocked five shots while grabbing eight rebounds. Jovan Stefanov led the Flames' effort on the glass with a game-high 10 boards.
Bush finished the game with 10 points.
