Men's Basketball Heads East To Face Youngstown State

Chicago, Ill.- The UIC men's basketball team will look to remain unbeaten in Horizon League play as the Flames take a 2-0 conference record into Thursday night's game against Youngstown State.

Tip-off between the Flames (8-5, 2-0 Horizon League) and the Penguins (4-7, 0-1 Horizon League) is slated for 7:35 p.m. Eastern at the Beeghly Center.

The Flames have won five of their last six contests heading into their game against the Penguins. The game is the first of two consecutive contests against league opponents in the state of Ohio, with a matchup against Cleveland State set for this Saturday.

UIC leads the all-time series over Youngstown State 16-1, having won the first 16 games of the series before suffering its first loss to the Penguins last season in Youngstown.

Josh Mayo continues to pace the Flames with 18.5 points per game, while backcourt mate Robert Kreps has scored in double figures in the Flames' last seven ballgames to average 14.4 ppg during his recent hot stretch.

UIC will seek its first 3-0 start to a conference campaign since the 1991-92 season.
