Chicago, Ill.- The UIC men's basketball team begins a two-game homestand against Cleveland State this Thursday night at the UIC Pavilion.
Tip-off between the Flames (10-10, 4-5 Horizon League) and the Vikings (14-7, 7-2 Horizon League) is set for 7:00 p.m. Central.
Adam Levinson and Kenny McReynolds will bring the call live on WIND 560 AM.
The 2007-08 Horizon League race is at the halfway point for the Flames, with nine games in the books and nine games remaining. Thursday's contest will be crucial in UIC's quest for a top seed in the Horizon League Tournament.
The Flames will seek to avenge a loss earlier this month to the Vikings. On Jan. 5 UIC was upended on the road by Cleveland State in a 68-51 defeat at the Wolstein Center.
As has been the case this entire season, junior guard Josh Mayo spearheads UIC's offensive attack. The third-year backcourt standout is averaging 17.8 points per game overall and 22.2 points per home contest.
For the third week in a row Mayo leads the nation in three-point field goal percentage, hitting from downtown at a clip of 53.4 percent (62-for-116) to lead all NCAA Division I players.
Mayo is also just two points shy of becoming the 19th member of UIC's 1,000-point club.
