Volleyball Drops Bradley In Three Straight Sets

Chicago, Ill. - The UIC volleyball team coasted to a three-set victory (25-17, 25-23, 25-23) over Bradley on Tuesday night at the Flames Athletic Center.

Katerina Hanackova led UIC with 10 kills and nine digs. Lana Lobdell and Epiphany Davis were impressive at the net with six blocks apiece.

Amy Reichel continued to lead Bradley's attack with a team-high 10 kills.

The Flames (7-12) came out strong in the first set with a .394 attack percentage. UIC led by as much as nine points late in the frame. Bradley (4-16) attempted a short 3-0 burst to get within eight points, but Casie Sullivan gave UIC a 1-0 match advantage with the final kill.

Trailing halfway through the frame, the Flames recorded a 10-6 run to knot set two at 19 all. The Braves took the next point before UIC's 4-3 run proved enough for the 25-23 victory.

UIC controlled the third set until a 7-3 Bradley run gave the team its second lead (17-16). The Flames trailed by one point late in the frame, but recovered with three straight for the match sweep (25-23).

UIC continues its three-match home slate this weekend with contests against Cleveland State and Youngstown State on Oct. 17 and 18.
