Chicago, Ill. - The UIC volleyball team kicked off its final week of regular season action on a high note with a four-set (23-25, 25-22, 25-21, 25-22) victory over Southern Illinois Edwardsville on Tuesday night at the Flames Athletic Center.
Jessica Dalke picked up her sixth double-double with a season-best 51 assists and 12 digs. Casie Sullivan earned her 10th double-double with 13 kills and 10 digs. Dalke and Sullivan also recorded three service aces each.
Mallory Clements led SIUE with 12 kills and 10 digs. Tiffany Turner recorded a team-best 12 digs, while Kelsey Hubert totaled five blocks.
Trailing in the first two frames, UIC got within one point late in set one, but SIUE's Clements notched the set-winning kill (25-23).
The Flames found themselves down three points late in set two before the squad sparked a 6-3 run to knot the game at 20 each. UIC then recorded a second 5-2 burst to tie the match at 1-1 (25-22).
UIC led by as much as six points in set three. The Cougars turned the momentum late in the frame to get within three points, but UIC's Dalke and Katerina Hanackova sealed the 25-21 victory on two kills.
One point shy of a match victory in set four, SIUE recorded three straight points before Hanackova drilled the final kill of the contest (25-22).
The Flames host Milwaukee and Green Bay this weekend in their final two regular season matches.
