Chicago, Ill. - The UIC volleyball team fell to Milwaukee in three sets (25-23, 25-21, 25-19) on Friday night at the Flames Athletic Center.
Casie Sullivan led UIC with 13 digs. Jessica Dalke recorded a season-best three block assists, while Katerina Hanackova totaled a team-high 10 kills.
Maddie Sueppel paced Milwaukee's offense with 15 kills.
Trailing by three points early in set one, UIC went on a 7-5 run to tie the game at 16 all. The Flames continued their offensive spark with a second 6-2 burst to extend their lead to three points (21-18) late in the frame. The Panthers answered with a 7-2 run to clinch the opening set, 25-23.
Milwaukee was just one point shy from taking a two-set advantage before UIC recorded four straight to get within three (24-21). Natalie Schmitting sealed the second set win for the Panthers when she drilled the final kill.
The Panthers took a 19-11 lead early in set three. UIC inched its way back into the set, but Milwaukee used the momentum in its favor to capture the sweep (25-19).
Senior Day will be celebrated prior to the start of UIC's final regular season match on Saturday against Green Bay at 4 p.m.
